Roxana Elizabeth Caro Elenes is the daughter of a Mexican convicted drug lord, Rafael Caro Quintero. Roxana is known for his father who has been one of the pre-eminent drug traffickers in Mexico. He is also accused of involvement in the torture and death of DEA Special Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena Salazar, and the abduction and murder of writer John Clay Walker and dentistry student Albert Radelat in January 1985. He was sentenced to 40 years in jail. He has been wanted in the U.S with a bounty of 20-million-dollar and is also listed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list.
Roxana’s uncle Miguel Caro Quintero is also a Mexican convicted drug lord and former leader of the Sonora Cartel based in Sonora.
Roxana’s Family Background
44-year-old Roxana Elizabeth Caro Elenes was born as the second child of her parents on January 17, 1978. Mara Elizabeth Elenes Lerma is her mother. Roxana’s father Rafael Caro Quintero was born on 24 October 1952 in Badiraguato, Mexico as the oldest son of Emilio Caro Payán and Hermelinda Quintero. He has eleven younger siblings.
Caro was 14 years old when his father, who was a farmer, died. At 16 he moved to Caborca, Sonora in the search of livelihood. He worked as a truck driver and plantation and grazing worker for a couple of years before joining the drug trade in Chihuahua. In his late teens, he started growing marijuana at the ranch owned by his brother Jorge Luis. Very soon he bought more ranches to grow more marijuana and earned a large amount of money. He began expanding his influence as a drug trader in the area.

Roxana’s father Initially worked for the drug traffickers Pedro Avilés Pérez and Ernesto Fonseca Carrillo. In late 1970s, he joined Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo, Juan José Esparragoza Moreno to form their own drug trafficking group the Guadalajara Cartel.
He has been accused of several crimes related to drug trafficking, abduction, and murder, and was jailed several times. He was released from jail in 2013 but was again arrested in July 2022. Miguel Caro Quintero was arrested in Mexico in 2001 on the charge of smuggling cocaine and marijuana into the U.S. for over 10 years. He was extradited to the U.S. on February 25, 2009. He confessed to trafficking more than 100 tons of marijuana to the U.S. In February 2001 he was convicted and sentenced to 17 years in prison

According to some online sources, her father who is one of the most infamous Mexican drug lords accumulated a huge wealth of around $650 million.
