Messiah Lauren Iverson is Allen Iverson’s daughter, who is one of the most successful and controversial American professional basketball players, inspired by the hip-hop movement. The 11-time NBA All-Star has played 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Popularly known as “the Answer” and “AI”, Allen is one of the greatest players in the history of the NBA. In 1997, he won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award. He was NBA’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2001. Two-time winner of the All-Star game MVP award(2001 and 2005), he was named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021.

16 years old Messiah was born as the 4th child of her parents: Allen Iverson and Tawanna Turner on 16 August 2005. She has 4 siblings including Tiaura, Allen II, Isaiah, and Dream. Messiah’s parents began dating when they were in high school. They married in Voorhees, New Jersey a few years later. Messiah’s mother Tawanna Iverson filed for divorce in March 2010, they got together after one month of finalization of divorce in 2013. Messiah’s father was born on June 7, 1975, in Hampton, Virginia, as the son of a 15-year-old single mother, Ann Iverson. 

Allen started playing as a quarterback at Bethel High School. He won The Associated Press High School Player of the Year award and the 17-and-under AAU national championship in 1992. Iverson won the Big East Rookie of the Year award and was named to the All Rookie Tournament First Team during his first season at Georgetown in 1994–95. During his college at Georgetown., he won the title of the Big East Defensive Player of the Year.

Soon after leaving college, Messiah’s talented father Allen was drafted into the 1996 NBA. After 2 seasons, he joined the Philadelphia 76ers. 6.0 feet tall Allen was the shortest player in the first overall pick. In his NBA debut, Allen touched the record of Willie Anderson for the third highest scoring output by a rookie guard. With  7 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals he scored his career’s then-highest score of 35 points, registering a 101–97 win over the Knicks. He scored 37 points to defeat Chicago Bulls by 55–8. He crossed Wilt Chamberlain’s rookie record of 40 points in three straight games, by scoring 50 points in five straight games.

With an average point of 23.5 per game, 7.5 assists and 2.1 steals for the season, Allen won the title of the NBA Rookie of the Year.

Messiah’s father having a remarkably successful career as an NBA champion earned a wealth of more than $200 million. Endorsements were also a major source of his income. But due to overspending, divorce, and other reasons he lost most of his wealth. As of 2022, he is known to have a net worth of just $1 million. Iverson signed a six-year, $70.9 million max contract extension with the Philadelphia 76ers in January 1999. According to Yahoo! Sports, in October 2010, Iverson signed a two-year $4 million net income contract with a Turkish Super League team Beşiktaş for EuroCup. While playing for Detroit Pistons NBA from 2008 to 2009 he earned a salary of $20.8 million, and $19 million with Denver Nuggets NBA (2007-08).
