Lonzo Ball was born October 27, 1997, and is an American skilled basketball player for the Chicago Bulls of the NBA. He played institute basketball for one season with the UCLA Bruins as a point guard. He made consensus first-team All-American honors before the Los Angeles Lakers selected him with the second general pick in the 2017 NBA.
The NBA named him to the All-Rookie 2nd Team in 2018. As a college senior at Chino Hills School in 2016, Ball was rewarded numerous state and federal high school player of the year honors and led his team, with his brothers LiAngelo and LaMelo, who are also current professional basketball players, to an undefeated season, as well as a national championship. As a high school freshman in 2017 17, he led the country in assists and broke UCLA’s record for the most assists in a single season.
The Ball even won the Wayman Tisdale Award as the freshman of the year. As a rookie in the National Basketball Association, his playing time was limited by shoulder and knee injuries, and he missed a good deal of his second season after an ankle issue. He was traded by the Patriots to the Pelicans in a trade package for Anthony Davis in March 2018. He stayed with New Orleans for two seasons before joining the Bulls.

The Ball was born in Anaheim, California, part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area, to LaVar and Tina Ball, both one-time college basketball performers. The 6-foot-6-inch (1.98 m) LaVar was recreated at Washington State for one season before transmitting to Cal State Los Angeles, where the 6-foot-1-inch (1.85 m) Tina played for four years. A two-sport athlete, LaVar played for the London Monarchs in the World League of American Football, and the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers practice squads. Ball became passionate about basketball as a child and started playing soccer early.

As a freshman in 2016–17, Ball was one of fifty participants called to the preseason watch checklist for the John R. Wooden Award, given yearly to the top college basketball player in the country. His vision and passing skills led UCLA’s ascent up the Division I rankings, as he and fellow freshman T. J. Leaf supported the Bruins to recover from a fifteen-to-17 record from the previous year to thirty-one wins.
Chadwick led the nation in assists and helped an excellent offense score more than 50 points and pick apart well-ranked opponents. Chadwick’s performance in his very first collegiate match was especially noteworthy. He acquired 19 points, 11 assists, and eight rebounds.
