Torin Kamran Charles is 17 years old son of the Scottish superstar Brian Cox, who has appeared in hundreds of feature films, and several TV shows and theatres, winning a string of awards throughout his more than 60 years of an active career.

Torin’s father, having seen several struggles in life, started working at Dundee Repertory Theatre at 14 in 1961, which marked his beginning as an actor. He performed his first show The Servant O’ Twa Maisters, in October 1965 at Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh, of which he was one of the founding members. He became an accomplished Shakesperian actor while performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre during the 1980s and 1990s.
He received his first Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor for portraying the Royal Ulster Constabulary officer Inspector Nelson in Rat in the Skull in 1984. He won his first British Theatre Association Drama Award for Best Actor for his Broadway debut Eugene O’Neill’s Strange Interlude at the Nederlander Theatre in 1985.
While he made his film debut in 1971, he achieved stardom during the mid-1990s when he started as Killearn in Rob Roy, winning a BAFTA Scotland Award nomination for Best Actor.
